What
is Karting?
Karting
has experienced dramatic growth during the last
10 years. This is marked not only by increased participation
but also an increase in karting facilities, businesses
and media exposure. This is due in large part to
karting's appeal to a broad demographic. This demographic
includes individuals from the ages 5 through 70,
both male and female and any number of nationalities.
The question may better be asked, "Why do people
go kart?" It's pretty simple. No other form
of motorsport offers the thrill of competitive wheel-to-wheel
racing, track time and affordability that karting
offers.
Some
drivers choose karting because they have a vision
or a desire to be involved in higher forms of motorsports
in the future, whether as an amateur or professional.
However, only an extremely small percentage of kart
racers become professional racers. In fact, there
has been a marked increase of drivers returning
to karting from all levels of motorsports to simply
enjoy karting for everything that has led to its
growth. Whatever the reason those people that choose
to get involved in karting are in for a fast and
fun experience!
